Have a Happy, SAFE Thanksgiving!:-)
I have sent out several well wishes via e-mail or through phone calls, and after working for Highway Safety for almost seven years, I now include the word "safe" in my greetings-it's just second nature to me.
So, please remember to be safe this Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with friends and family, but if you are traveling, please buckle up and buckle your children up, and don't drink and drive. Watch for deer and be extra cautious in bad weather.

Motorcycle Safety Tips
- More than 90% of riders in accidents had no formal training. Take a Motorcycle RiderCourse to develop good riding techniques
- Conduct a safety inspection of your motorcycle before each ride
- Wear appropriate gear for comfort and protection, and make sure that your gear stands out so other motorists can see you
- Ride Sober! Alcohol and other drugs impair judgment and do not mix with motorcycling
- Know the local traffic laws and rules of the road-don't speed and show courtesy to other drivers
With winter weather coming, make sure you are prepared to hit the road!
- Keep emergency supplies, like an extra blanket and water, on hand
- Make sure tires are properly inflated
- Make sure your vehicle is in good driving condition
- Slow down in inclement weather
- Watch for deer, especially from October through December
- Avoid drinking and driving, and designate a sober driver
- And as always, buckle up and buckle your children up-every trip, every time!
